Yol-Kok – 2nd Half

Yol Kok Meaning: Yol Kok is the false name of the great philosopher and scholar Yi I nicknamed Confusious of Korea.

Remember the 6 major kias in this kata:

• The first punch of the kata
• The first punch of second side of the kata
• The last punch down the middle of the first half of the kata
• The first elbows-strike
• The second elbow-strike
• The backfist in an “X” stance

The second half of this kata has the last three major kias and will finish with a left forward stance with a outer forearm block and middle punch.

Starting from the last punch down the middle, spin up with a twin chamber on the right side of your body so you can side thrust kick with your left leg and land with a elbow strike and major kia. Remember to land wide in your left forward stance before your elbow strike.

After that, stand up and prep with a twin chamber to your left side and side thrust kick with your right leg and land in a wide right forward stance and finish with an elbow strike and major kia.

For your next two sides start with a twin knife-hand chamber and step into a backstance twin kife-hand block. Then step into a right forward stance with a downward palm block and middle spearhead. Keep in mind to protect your middle spear hand with your left hand covering your elbow on your right arm.

Prep with a twin knife-hand chamber on your left side and then step into a back stance twin knife-hand block. Then step into a left forward stance downward palm block with a middle spearhand.

After that step down the middle with a left forward stance outer forearm block punch, then step into a right forward stance with a prep at your cheek with another outer forearm block punch.

For your last major kia jump foreward into an “X” stance with a backfist and major kia.

Then spin to your right side into a right forward stance outer forearm punch, stomp into the other into a left forward stance with an outer forearm block and punch.
