Why Bailey's?
Expert Instructors

Our instructors bring decades of experience training, teaching, and competing. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping students of all ages and skill levels reach their full potential. They are true role models on and off the mat.
Family Friendly

Karate isn't just for your kids. At Bailey's, many of our students train together as families. Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, siblings, and even grandparents work together to be their best selves. Karate brings families together.
Black Belt Attitude

While we have plenty of fun, we still take our training very seriously. A black belt isn't just an accessory. It demonstrates discipline, perserverance, integrity, self control, and respect. Our students are expected to model these behaviors at all times, inside and outside the school.
Programs
Power Rangers
Designed for kids ages 4-6, this program prioritizes building confidence, focus, and fitness. Students progress at an age-appropriate pace, and are promoted through our special Power Ranger program until they graduate to our regular karate classes.
Kids
Kids ages 7-12 will work hard and have fun on the way to earning their black belt. These lessons prioritize self-defense, physical fitness, confidence building, integrity, and academic achievement.
Teens and Adults
Teens and adults follow our standard karate curriculum, but we do our best to form groups of similar ages and abilities. This ensures you always get the most value out of your classes. No age is too late to start - we have students of all ages, including seniors!
Weapons
Students of intermediate and higher ranks have the opportunity to train with the bo staff and/or kamas. Students that take a particular interest in weapons can work with our instructors to learn a variety of other weapons.
Sparring
Test your skills in a safe environment by sparring with your fellow students and even your instructors. Sparring is a great way to build confidence, practice techniques, and have fun. These lessons will also prepare you to compete in tournaments.
History

Bailey's Karate School was founded in 1980 by Sensei Vicki Gillen. Sensei Vicki and her staff trained hundreds of students in Rome and the surrounding areas, including the current owner, Sensei Harry Hulett. Sensei Harry has over 30 years of experience training and teaching martial arts and is continuing the school's legacy of black belt excellence.
We have a 5000 square foot training facility, 3 large training rooms, and a full staff of experienced black belt instructors. All of this enables us to work with well over 100 students each week. Call and schedule a tour and free introductory class today!
